January–February: Best availability, rain is the only real risk (wet-weather protocol standard). Elevator reservations open up with 5–7 days' notice instead of 2 weeks. If your schedule is flexible, this is the time to move.
March–April: Demand starts climbing. Spring is pleasant moving weather in LA — 65–75°F. Good availability early in the month; end-of-month Saturdays start filling 2 weeks out.
May: Demand accelerates. Graduation moves, lease turnovers beginning. Popular Saturday slots now need 2–3 weeks' notice. Mid-week moves still easy to schedule on short notice.
June–August: Peak season. Summer Saturdays in the Valley can hit 95°F+; crews work efficiently but slower heat adds 15–20 minutes to larger moves. Slots book 3–4 weeks in advance. End-of-month dates (June 28–30, July 29–31, Aug 29–31) are the most competitive — book as early as possible.
September–October: Sweet spot. Demand drops after Labor Day; October weather is excellent; parking permit lead times are back to 5 business days. Mid-month and early-month dates are easy to book with 1 week notice.
November: Light demand except Thanksgiving week (don't move Thanksgiving weekend — traffic is brutal). Good availability otherwise, beginning of rain season.
December: Low demand except the two weeks before Christmas. Holiday moves (Dec 26–Jan 3) are available with 5–7 days notice. Moving between Christmas and New Year's is surprisingly smooth — everyone else is occupied.

Rates don't change seasonally at Best Movers LA — $99/hr year-round. But availability does: January and February have the best slot availability, easiest parking permit access, and lowest demand. You get the same price with far more scheduling flexibility.
End of June through August, specifically end-of-month weekends. College move-ins, lease turnovers, and summer family moves all converge. Popular Saturday slots book out 3–4 weeks in advance. If you can move mid-month or mid-week in summer, you'll get a better slot.
Not necessarily. LA rain is infrequent and our crews use wet-weather protocol (plastic wrap over blankets) automatically. The bigger issue is Grapevine or Cajon Pass closures in heavy rain for long-distance moves — local moves are largely unaffected.
